Building Your New Home
Locating the Site
Finding the perfect homesite to build your new construction home on is just as important as any other step in the building and buying process, and our team of experts will help you find the ideal homesite that works best for you.
Deciding on a Floor Plan
During this stage, we’ll work with our clients to discuss their wants and needs for their new home to determine which of our available floor plans will work best for them and their family. At AHA Dream Homes, we know that not all homeowners have the same needs and desires, and we have carefully curated our floor plan offers to ensure that you will find the right floor plan for you.
Foundation Process
Here we prepare the homesite for the engineered design foundation, set the forms and make sure that the home is placed on the right spot. After that, the fun really begins as we set up the beams & ditches to prepare for the plumbing rough and the post tensioned cable. Once everything is ready and inspected, we pour the concrete, let it cure and get the site ready for the frames.
Framing Stage
After the site is agreed upon and the foundation has been poured, our experienced team will then frame the home exactly as you saw it layed out on your chosen floor plan. This is the point in the process where your “dream” becomes a “reality” and you’re able to envision your new home on the homesite you selected. As there is no gas here in Whisper Valley, everything is electric, and this is the stage of construction where we add in the rough electricity, plumbing valves and the windows to bring in an abundance of natural light throughout your home. We then install the BIBS insulation on all of the interior walls and begin the spray foam insulation within the roof and attic.
Sheet Rock & Interior Details
We begin by applying drywall to all interior walls and then proceed to texture the interior walls. At this stage, you’ll be able to select your favorite Kelly Moore wall color to showcase throughout the home. We will then install the flooring of your choice (no carpet options), the self-closing kitchen cabinetry, plumbing fixtures and toilettes, countertops and the lighting.
Settlement
This is the final and most exciting stage in your home building process. Our team will be finishing up any last-minute details on your home to ensure that it is perfect and ready for move-in.
Exterior Details
After framing is complete, we then install the exterior walls and roof with ZipSystem for a perfect, airtight seal around your home. We then continue by adding the James Hardie fiber cement siding which is very easy for homeowners to maintain. We’ll finish up by adding any masonry on the front façade, finishing off the roof, adding in your garage door and completely all of the exterior trim including your covered back patio.
Our houses are built according to the performance standards enforced by the Cities of Austin, Bastrop and Kyle, Texas and in compliance with any amendments adopted by the local communities, other codes and standards include those set by the Texas Residential Construction Commission, the Federal Housing Administration, The Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, The American National Standard Institute (ANSI) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
